N12 WEST INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT

The N12 west Matlosana Integrated housing Development Project will significantly change the landscape of the City of Matlosana. MXN’s plans are advanced to implement a mixed develop on approximately 500 Hectares of land.
The project is situated on the N12 Corridor with access to rail and road links. The N12 Corridor, also referred to as the “treasure corridor”, is envisaged as a major growth corridor in the North West Province.
The N12 West Matlosana Housing Development would ultimately result in the integration of Klerksdorp with residential surbabs of Jouberton and Alabamaa.
The development will integrate 9500 residential units, commercial, and public facilities

MATLOSANA ESTATE EXTENSION 3,5 & 6
Project Value: 61 Million
The scope of work under the “Construction of civil Engineering Services Matlosana Estates Extension 3,5 & 6 “project entails the supply and installation of following:
- General site clearance, removals of vegetation and rubble
- Trench excavation ,backfill ,compaction, reinstatement of road surfaces and disposal of surplus material
- Supply, installation, connection and testing of various water and sewer pipes.
- Supply ,installation and connection of bulk water meters, gate valves , fire hydrants and anchor thrust blocks
- General earthworks related to construction of road layer works
- Construction of pre-cast concrete manholes complete
- Road surfacing with paving blocks , kerbs , road marking and road signs
- Construction of storm water structures
- Electricity

MATLOSANA ESTATE EXTENSION 3 (220 UNITS)
Extension 3 forms part of the bigger project Matlosana Estate. The intension of this particular development is to offer people quality and affordable housing solution within the Klerksdorp and surrounding towns. The houses will be of a high standard and unique to this area. The proposed development will consist of approximately 220 affordable houses with the stand sizes ranging between (350-450 m2). The bulk and internal services are at the advanced stage, and the construction of the show houses for the development has been completed.

EXTENSION 10 LOW INCOME HOUSES (RDP)
Extension 10 is sole funded by Human Settlement to offer people who have been waiting for government houses (RDP). The houses will be of a high standard and unique to this area. The proposed development will consist of approximately 1668 Low income houses (RDP) with the stand sizes ranging between (250-300 m2). The bulk and internal services are in progress and the construction of the houses will commence soon.
SCHOONSPRUIT SEWER OUTFALL
The Schoonspruit sewer outfall upgrading will also benefit the BNG Human Settlement which includes social housing, schools retail and social amenities. It will serve four primary residential areas consisting of approximately 2000 households with an estimated population of 9000 namely: Meiringspark, Declercqville, Songloed and Elandia. This will create employment opportunities to the local labourers skilled and unskilled for the duration of the project, which will take about 18 months. The estimated local people that will be employed is plus, minus 56.
- 6569 meter of new main sewer pipeline with 124 manholes
- 2728 sewer connector lines with 54 manholes to connect the existing network to the new main outfall line.
- 130 new sewer house connections to replace inappropriate and defective infrastructure;
- Construction of new connection chamber to the existing 1300mm outfall line at Gilau street
- Two major road crossings namely the N12 and Leemhuis Street.
BULK WATER PIPELINE FROM RESERVOIR (PHASE 1)
Construction of a new bulk water supply line from the Alabama Reserviors along the Southern side of N12 up to the borders of the initial extensions of Matlosana Estate.
One of the priority is to provide sufficient bulk water capacity for the new Matlosana Estate Development, to augment water supply and improved operational water pressures that ring-feeds the existing town extensions of meiringspark and neighbouring suburbs. The project will employ plus minus 40 skilled and unskilled labourers for the period of 14 months. The value of the project is estimated around R39,8 million.
COMPONENTS: 3913 of new main water pipeline ranging from 400mm to 630mm in diameter
- Related pipe fittings and valves
- 8 No connection and air valve chambers of reinforced concrete
- A railway crossing; and
- Crossing of N12 road by means of pipe jacking method
The new Matlosana Estate Development is estimated to benefit plus minus 9591 households on a mixture of land uses.
